Ways of Managing Stress with Color Therapy

Color affects our emotions significantly. Some colors leave negative impacts on our mood and some leave positive impacts. Each of us have some favorite colors; these are the colors that we love to wear, paint our rooms with and search for while buying accessories like bags, watches etc. Our favorite colors represent our personality and our inner self. Today, color therapy is used to correct a number of mental disorders, out of which use of color therapy for managing stress is most common. In this article we will discuss some ideas of relieving stress using color therapy.

1.  Cover your surrounding area with pink. Pink represents tranquility and calmness. Adding plashes of this color to the walls and curtains of your house will make the atmosphere of your house more calming and relaxing. Pink will look good wherever you will add it; you can use it in your bedroom, bathroom and all other areas of your abode. You can even start wearing more and more pink. Wearing pink clothes will enhance your inner peace and balance your vital energies.

2.  The next most relaxing color is yellow. If you are feeling low and tired due to excessive stress, add as much as yellow as you can to your surroundings. This color will lift up your spirit and your will be relieve from depression.

3.  Stress often deprives us from a good night’s sleep. When we don’t have enough sleep, it further enhances our stress levels. Blue is the color that can help you in such situations. While sleeping make sure you are surrounded by a lot of blue. Blue represents healing and tranquility. People who have already developed insomnia will also be benefited highly if they add blue to their bed room ambiance. Use blue colored beddings, sleeping suits and night lamps while sleeping.

4.  If you are suffering from too much anxiety, the color green will help you immensely. If the anxiety is relate to your workplace, try to add more green to your office chamber. If you are not allowed to make drastic changes to the interiors of your office, have green colored wallpaper on your computer screen or drink your coffee in a green mug. Adding a touch of green to your house is much easier thing to do. Increase the numbers of houseplants you have; that will help you lead an anxiety and stress free life.

5.  Violet also boasts stress relieving properties. According to experts, this color represents peace, strength and wisdom. Wear violet and your inner peach will surely be enhanced. Add violet to the interiors of your house, your surrounding environment will seem to be more peaceful.

6.  Last, but not the least white is also a stress reliever. The classic white color looks extremely clean. This color represents purity and cleanliness. Using this color in your home décor not only makes your rooms look bigger but will also make the surrounding atmosphere appear extremely peaceful. Wearing white will have an cleansing effect on your mind; it will purify your spirit and will make you stress free.
