The first thing to catch one’s attention is the sight of a great pair of lips. Lips tend to bear the brunt of daily vagaries of life, sunburn, parchedness, ageing, incorrect dietary intake, unhealthy lifestyle, poor water intake and shriveling up. Many women would indulge in expensive spa treatments for their face and body, but unfortunately the most ignored part, the lips, has to be content with a lip balm or lipstick. You can possess a great pair of lips with the easy to reach stuff from around your house.

One can try this option while simply making a cup of tea for oneself. In a tea cup, take about less than half the cup of chilled water. Get hold of a tea pouch and keep immersing it in the water till it picks up the color. This might take sometime as the water is chilled. The reason is that chilled water will revitalize and give a smooth texture to your lips. The next step is to mix powdered sugar, about a teaspoon into the cup. Once you get a slurry mix, dab the mix on your lips and gently massage for about a minute. Wash off after that and dry out your lips with the squeezed out tea pouch for another minute. One could then dab a generous amount of good quality olive oil or coconut extract oil and let it remain for about five minutes. Later on remove it off with the squeezed out tea pouch. One can repeat this ritual once or twice a week and see the instant difference.

For many women who wish for rosy lips here are a number of excellent tips you can follow to prevent and reduce the dark tone in lips. A potent mix of about half a teaspoon each of freshly extracted pomegranate and beetroot when applied on a frequent basis can help remedy the tan on the lips. Lemon has great astringent and bleaching properties. Make a mixture of about half a lemon and a spoonful of honey and apply liberally on the lips and keep for about 10 minutes. This will definitely help treat the dark lip tone.

Lemon can also be mixed with soaked and then paste of a few almonds. One can mix in a spoonful of fresh milk cream into this and treat your lips to it. The cream will provide suppleness, and the lemon and almonds will help lighten the lip color. Bananas can also be added. Aloe gels are a good option too.

One can try a mix of glycerine and the crushed rose extract or rose water and leave on for a few hours to get great textured lips. Fresh milk cream can be massaged by itself on the lips or mixed with crushed rose extract and crushed strawberry and left for a few hours. Great looking lips are here to stay. A good rub with a mixture of a spoonful of edible sweet soda, honey and coconut extract oil provides excellent exfoliation. Have a healthy dose of mix of essential veggies like spinach, tomato, water cress and yeast for pink hued lips.
