Ear psoriasis is a variant of psoriasis characterized by the inflammation of the skin around and inside the ear canal. This disorder appears in the form of red lesions, scaly patches, cracked skin, silvery or white colored plaques, skin pain, constant itching and more on the affected regions of the skin.

Typically these symptoms are observed on the skin inside the ear, nearby regions and may in severe cases extend down to the neck. In addition, due to a high inflammation level, these lesions may sometimes pain even on a gentle touch. This pain sensation is a clear indicative of the sensitivity and high inflammation of the skin. Furthermore, apart from pain, these lesions may agitate the sufferer by consistent itching sensation.

This mainly happens due to the excessive dryness on these symptoms which turn their appearance into silvery and white colored lesions. In the initial stages these silvery patches may be mistaken for a yeast infection, therefore, a proper clinical diagnosis must be conducted to kick out the right illness. Moreover, the constant exposure to the sun leads to cracks and sometimes injuries. These cracks give a chance to unwanted organisms like yeast, bacteria to invade and trigger another infection.

Psoriasis, in its mild to moderate outbreaks, is controllable through a timely invasion of treatment medicines. However, when the disease affects the eye region, in particular the eye lids, it may lead to devastating results. One of the worst outcomes of this condition is permanent loss of vision among its sufferers. Eyelid psoriasis is although a rare condition, its outbreak can be particularly hard to combat considering the sensitivity of the organ.

The disease may result into emergence of scaly, dry and raised-up lesions around the affected eye region. These lesions can even the eye lids to curve down or up for a long time, until the lesions are treated. The persistence of the disease for prolonged period of time may cause the gradual death of cornea and as a consequent eventual loss of vision. In rare cases, owing to the severe outbreak of lesions on the eye lids, the cornea can get scraped naturally by the eyelashes of the affected persons. However, the condition can be considerably controlled by a timely medication of certain over the counter medicines. Most of the medicines and alternative methods for the relief of this condition have been specially designed keeping in mid the sensitivity of the organ.
