Mouth Whooshing Your Way To Great Oral Health Care

One’s oral health is directly linked to our overall health and well-being. Hence, it becomes utmost priority to maintain good dental hygiene. The mouth is a great harbourer of countless bacteria which if not treated in time leads to plaque and other problems. The oil pulling process is effective as these germs are greatly drawn to the oil which pulls out the impurity from the surface of the tongue which causes effective detoxification.

Mouth Whooshing Your Way To Great Oral CareA relatively economical procedure that has amazing results for great dental care is oil swishing. Oil swishing or whooshing process involves using a tablespoon or teaspoonful of non-refined seed oil like walnut, olive, sunflower, unroasted sesame to site a few and moving it around in the mouth for a period of close to 20 minutes, avoiding gargling in the throat and swallowing. The oil shouldn’t be ingested as after the whooshing process the oil would become infused with germs and toxins. If the eventual spatter is frothy then it is a good indicator that the process has been done correctly. One can repeat the process more than once a day, always on empty stomach to speed up the detox process.

It is advisable to start off by taking about two tablespoons of lemon extract with about half teaspoon of baking soda in half a glass of water for two times a day. This causes alkanization to take place which facilitates detoxification. This needs to be done for a period of at least two weeks before commencing the oil pulling process. The reason being that many who directly start off with the oil whooshing process many times experience symptoms of getting worse prior to getting better which is called the Herksheimer effect which is reduced by following the prior stage.

People who have started the oil pulling process with cold pressed cedar nut oil have brighter, whiter teeth with effectual removal of stains, streaks that are caused due to prolonged consumption of tea, coffee, smoking, improper dental care.

A good practice is following the oil pulling process first thing in the day by brushing the teeth with a mix of sea salt and baking soda. Those with white coating on the tongue are known to have a kind of fungus growth called candida which can be combated by oil pulling with coconut oil on a regular basis.

People with problems like perennial foul smell in mouth, sensitive gums and teeth and receding gums have found the use of extra virgin coconut oil pulling process a blessing. Those with severe toothache that extends to the entire jaw and ear felt immense relief from the process.

One can add a few drops of oregano oil to the coconut oil which helps clear any infection in the gums and associated pain and discomfort as the duo oils have anti-virus and antibiotic properties.

A mix of baking soda, stevia, mint essential oil and evco can be used a great home-made toothpaste to effectively substitute the market brands.

One must avoid using canola oil as it is not innate in nature. Peanut oil is also not recommended as it known to develop mould after it has been harvested and also known to leave scaring in the heart.
