Making Papaya Skin Mask at Home

Papaya is used for skin treatments since ancient times. The natural agents found in this fruit are extremely beneficial for our skin. Papaya contains healing enzymes that can successfully treat irritated or sunburned skin. Applying papaya on the skin regularly, on the other hand, will help you in fighting the free radicals responsible for skin aging. Below we have presented the recipe of a homemade skin mask using papaya.

Step 1: First, take a ripe, but firm papaya and peel it. Now, remove its seeds and cut the fruit into short and slender pieces.

Step 2: Place the pieces of papaya into the blender; run the blender until you have a smooth and soft paste. You should not add any other ingredient into the blender including water while preparing the papaya paste.

Step 3: Use this pure papaya paste as a face mask for getting a refreshing and soothing effect. For best effects apply the papaya paste onto your face right after making the paste. Avoid putting the paste around the eyes. As papaya is a watery fruit, it might tend to drip; so, it is advisable that you lie down as you wait for drying of the paste.

Step 4: If you have extremely dry skin, adding a teaspoon of honey to the papaya paste before applying it on your face will offer you incredible results. It will soften your skin and will also eliminate the skin blemishes. For revitalizing your dull complexion, you should add a few drops of lime juice to the papaya mask. The same mask can also effectively solve problems of the skin of your shoulders and neck.

Step 5: The mask must be kept on your face for 15-20 minutes, after which you should remove it using lukewarm water. However, according to some, if papaya is the only ingredient of the mask, the best effects can be obtained if you remove the mask after it dries up.
