A pain of joints cannot be negligible, however, it is a usual problem that the most elder people have, all over the world. Nowadays, this pain can be seen in the people of all age groups. The disease called arthritis or Gout arthritis is one of those worse joint pains that can make the patient’s life hell with lots unbearable complications.

What is Gout?

Gout is very well-known as the most painful category of arthritis among people.  It happens when an excessive amount of  uric acid is been generated    in the body. This high amount of acid produces small crystals of urate that drops in the tissues and fluids especially in the joints. When theses particles are formed in the body, it results in the chronic attacks of arthritis. These attacks are mostly in the form of severe joint swellings or sores and pain. In some cases, the chronic Gout can lead to the drops of hard lumps of uric acid inside and around the joints. This can damage the joints very severely; give a halt to the kidney functions and even can assemble kidney stones. Researches have found this disease as one of the most frequent grumble among the various patients. Most often, this disease is related to the some inborn or hereditary deformity of human body of processing uric acid. It is mostly found in men and can exist for some few days, weeks, and months and also can also become a chronic disease. The joint of the large is mainly affected by Gout and it can also develop in the other parts like elbow, hand, knees, and ankle.

Causes of Gout:

Gout causesGout is usually a chronic disease. The main causes of this sickness are supposed to be the unrestrained metabolic disorders or an increased velocity of humiliation of the purine components deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) that leads to the over production uric acid in the blood that is named as hyperuricemia. Uric acid is a metabolic artifact and a consequence of metabolism of purines, which is mostly found in human tissues and food. Hyperuicemia is a result due to the unbalanced production and emission of urate in the blood tissue. The under production of urate is said to be the main reason of the disease.

Symptoms of Gout:

Gout develops in four stages likeasymptomatic, acute, intercritical, and chronic. In the asymptomatic stage, gout the intensity of serum urate   increases without showing any symptom. As the disease develops it results in hypertension or nephrolithiasis with severe back pain. In the initial stage, the patient can have hot, red swollen joints. The pain of this arthritis is very sensitive even in a mild touch of a bed sheet can affect. The first acute attack hits unexpectedly and reaches to its picks very soon. The initial attack can affect any and every joint. The pain of arthritis first comes at the base of the big toe and is known as Podagra. Usually, the occurred pain goes after one or two weeks form one joint completely and attacks on another joint. An un-natural weight loss can also be seen in the patients. The uric acid can be constructed outside the joints, the various collections of this crystal are known as tophi and these can be found in the elbows or on the back of the elbow. Normally, the tophi is not that painful and can be a significant evidence to check or test whether the patient has gout because the crystals can be destructed with a small needle for the microsopic examination the laboratory. After a first attack most patients get the second attack within 6 months or even after 2 years. The period of Intercritical in a patient is mostly symptom free. Many times it so happens that the attack never occurs for even for 5 to 10 years. The patients who are not yet treated can have delayed attacks which can be severe to any extend. The migratory attack consecutively affects different joints and the Achilles tendon, it is associated with either subdeltoid or olecranon bursitis. The absolute is the chronic stage of gout where the disease is fully inside the nerves. This is an extreme painful stage, is called as polyarthritis that has large tophi in the synovial membranes, tendons and soft tissues. Tophi can be constructed in the fingers, hands, knees, feet, helix of the ear and even in the internal organs like kidney and myocardium. They can also form stones in the kidney. The chronic redness deposits impulsive secondary joint degeneration with deformity and deformity. The involvement of kidney with tubular damages results in chronic renal dysfunction.

Exams and tests:

Usually, the researchers diagnosis the blood, urine samples and other physicals tests like x-ray of the affected part of the body or the joints or the bones. The doctors also diagnosis the presence of monosodium urate monohydrate crystals in the fluid that is taken from an infected joint. This fluid discloses the needle type intracellular crystal of sodium urate,  hyperuricemia. However, this is not a proper test of Gout, where the serum acid is above normal. A test of WBC count can also be useful. In the chronic stage, the x-ray reports show exposed erosions. X-ray rarely shows the tophi.

Treatments of Gout:

The doctors find out the ways to treat a gout patient by terminating an acute attack, reducing thehyperuricemia and preventing its reappearance, fighting with other complications. Colchicine works affectively to reduce the pain, swelling, and redness. Here, the pain frequently sinks within 12 hours of treatment and the patient can get complete relief in 48 hours.   The patients of acute gout are always advised bed rest, various restrictions and are given confrontation from the inflamed, painful joints. Patients are also advised the pain relief medicines and doses of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). In some cases, the doctors may go for a surgery.

Some home remedies:

As the arthritis has become very common disease nowadays, many doctors and even general people use and have found several home remedies to have control on the pains. Some physicians find that emotional stress can also be big reason for the sickness. Thus, they always advice to keep the mind always free from any type of stress and have meditations everyday. Some of the other home remedies are the intake of two teaspoons of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey with warm water twice a day; two teaspoons of fresh leaves juice of bathua in the empty stomach; an intake of half teaspoon of turmeric powder with warm water; Applying    two fractions pure olive oil and one part of kerosene on the affected part or massaging also applying sandalwood powder paste to the affected parts; eating   one uncooked clove of garlic and drinking one tablespoon cool liver oil with juice of one orange and drinking caret , cucumber juice , vegetable juice etc.

Prevention:

The main prevention of gout is to subordinate the risk factors. The patients who are suffering with gout should avoid high purine foods like anchovies, liver, kidneys, sardines, lentils, and alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine as they can extend the urate level in the body. Doctors should advice the patients to have a prescribed diet regularly. Patient should carefully follow the various instructions that the doctors have advised. The sufferer should always make aware the doctors about the complications like sleepiness, nauseas, vomiting, the frequency of urine etc. Heaviness, consumption of tremendous alcohol and high purine diets should always be avoided.
