Those eager to put a halt to the ticking ageing clock, fruitful assistance is available in the form of the vastly popular treatment called the yoga facial. Basically, it is a set of exercises intended for toning up the facial muscles and guiding one how to steer clear from frowning that when followed religiously helps iron out fine lines on the face. Routinely adhered facial gymnastics concentrate on the areas of the eyes, cheeks, saggy gut and overall skin invigorating exercises guaranteed to arrest the ageing process significantly.

To reduce crow’s feet, one can start with the eye area by moving the muscles around the eye area without creasing the forehead. Then, the palms of the hands need to be vigorously rubbed till they warm up and then place them on the bridge of the nose and then softly circulate them around the eye area.

Alternately, the warmed palms need to be placed on the face with repeated hastened breathing till ten seconds count followed by rotating the fingers in round circular movements starting from the chin area slowly reaching the forehead. This exercise improves the blood circulation in the face.

The cheeks can be exercised by filling them with air with lips closed and moving the air between the two cheeks and between the upper and lower lips and then releasing the air. One could also try keeping the lips sealed while sucking the cheeks inwards resembling a fish or as if one is on a trumpet or like Marilyn Monroe with her trademark pout. This helps to firm up the muscles in the cheek area while getting rid of chubby baggage around the area.

For sagging guts and double chins, try being seated in an erect posture with neck stretched up towards the ceiling, puckering and pouting the lips as if one is kissing the ceiling, as one experiences a stretch or pull on the jaw area. This needs to be followed up to ten seconds and rest and follow it for close to five times a day to feel the change.

A great facial yoga exercise is to spray the face with water that can be mixed with essential oils like lavender in circular motions with eyes closed. Emphasizing on the exploration of vowel sounds say the letter ‘U’ is an effective yoga facial. As one says the letter let the expression transcend from the lip area way up to the brow area and then begin with a neutral expression on the face.

By just setting aside ten minutes in a day for facial yoga, one can gain immense relief from facial stress and strain that will go a long way in keeping ageing at bay.
