Child Care Leave

Child care leave is a system that is existing in many countries and India is not far from left behind in it. In the city of Kolkata there are many people who rejoice with the fact that there has been a step taken towards the employees of the state government. By this application the employee would be given two years leave toward child care leave and would give the women a facility to enjoy this kind of leave apart from the maternal leave they get while you give birth to children.

There is a major step that has been taken which has made many women employees happy and this proposal that has been laid out has made sure that there is a lot of child care leave facilities given to the women.

The employees of the Central Government are already enjoying the benefit of this kind of child care leave and so even the state government employees should be benefited. So generally it has been said that women employees with small children should be given a facility wherein they can be given a period of two years leave as child care leave till the child becomes 18 years of age. This can be used for either for the times like examination or any kind of sickness.

It has been requested that this child care leave can be single or can be taken in separate spells and is applicable only so long as the children become adults. The women employees would be paid leave salary and this would equal to their pay that is drawn just before they go on leave. The child care leave will not be deducted from the leave account.

Many women have their maternity leave increased from the usual 135 days to 180 days. As of now in many parts of India, the maternity leave is around 120 days. Child care leave can also be combined with any other kind of leave and this is allowed. Child care leave is not applicable to the third child. The account for child care is normally maintained in the manner the proforma for leave is maintained by the Government. It would be kept alongwith the service books that are kept by the Government servants.

The women employees who work for the Government need leave at the time of their need. Child Care leave normally is a way of earning the rights as a parent and is the ideal way to get to take care of your child.

Saturdays, Sundays and other Gazette holidays would be prefixed with the Child Care Leave. This child care leave can be used only if the person concerned has no earned leave to her credit. This was then withdrawn, and then stated that there was no need for having earned leave to avail of child care leave.

Child Care leave is allowed only if the child is dependent on the women employee. The child care leave is allowed only if they are given in 3 spells and it should be in one calendar year. Child care leave should not normally be given during the probation period except if there is an extreme situation where the authority for leave sanctioning is completely convinced that the female employee is in need of child care leave.

Again a child care leave is given only to those employees who have small children to bring up or who look after the needs like the condition when the child is sick or if the child is having an exam to attend.

Child care leave is treated as a single spell in the year when it commences LTC cannot be used during Child care leave and it is granted only with the purpose of taking care of someone and not for having any holiday.

Child care leave is thus a great way of giving the women a chance to focus on her parental responsibility.
