All about exfoliation

Cell turnover takes a beating as we get older. The dead skin cells give us a very dull look and our complexion really looks worn out. Exfoliating the face would surely help to bring back the lost luster in the face and a weekly exfoliating habit would also help in getting rid of the top layers of the skin. This gives the moisturizers to get into the skin. Also the serums are allowed to get into the skin with ease and thus help you when you apply your foundation during make up. The foundation cream would then not be dry and flaky as it is sometimes.

All about exfoliationSo how best would you exfoliate? Forget all those fluffy thins that you use to get a good scrub on your face. Instead use the body wash and don’t ever use the loofah as it is infested with a lot of bacteria. It is also very abrasive and would harm your skin. Use basic washcloth and wipe your face with that always.

There are also other items like exfoliating gloves and a dry brush which help to exfoliate. When you have a bath use a long brush to exfoliate our entire body. Give a good dry brush from the feet to the head and wash off in the shower. This would help in a lot of blood circulation and help you to get rejuvenated. All the dead cells would get activate and you would be ensured of greater vibrance and energy.

The gloves are a great way of exfoliating. Use the gloves and scrub the skin in a circular motion. This is the best way you could have a good exfoliating regime. Then there are many bath brushes that are available. Buy them and use them to exfoliate yourself.

Skin needs oil. Apply oil to the skin and take a dry brush and brush it from head to feet. Use light strokes and make this a once in a week routine. Then get into the shower after oiling and use a salt or a sugar scrub . Start at the feet again and massage you body in a circular motion. This is the best form of exfoliation. Rinse off with lukewarm water and then apply a body wash to the skin. If the body wash has salicylic acid then nothing like it. Pay a lot of attention to the knees and the elbows as they are a neglected lot at times. Use a lot of body wash if you are prone to getting acne in the back and the butt.

After this pat the skin dry and then apply a moisturizer when the skin is slightly damp.

If you do not exfoliate every day or weekly then the skin gets totally covered with only dead skin cells. Thus it would completely block you skin and you skin would start looking very dull.

The best time you should exfoliate is in the morning. The skin repairs its faults in the night and so morning is the ideal time you should pamper it. Scrub away those dead cells and just ensure your skin is devoid of dead cells. Always rinse off with lukewarm water. If you skin is oil and there are large pores then use a microdermabrasion system.

Sometimes you can also use our facial scrub in the cleanser and use it on your face.

Chemical peels and beta alpha hydroxy pads are also used to exfoliate. Glycolic acid also reduces wrinkles and fine lines on your face. Salicylic acid removes acne . Retinoids help in increasing the growth of cells and also help in exfoliating.

Scaly lips are also common. Use a proper lip balm for this. Then ensure that your elbows are well maintained. For rough elbows use a pair of socks with the ends ct off. Sleep like that for a long time an this really cures the roughness.

Exfoliation is all about removing the dead cells from your skin. Do it often and you would have sparkling skin.
