Whip Away The Holiday Doldrums
Holidays always doesn’t tend to bring with it desired happiness and cheerfulness. Sometimes it leaves at your disposal, lots of depression and terrorizing events that perturb your thoughts all the time. So, anything like this fears you, don’t keep quiet and try to withhold your problems within yourself. This will create further problems and is damaging to you both mentally and physically. Open up and speak out whatever is poking you, get close to a friend or other loved one and emote your feelings. And if you require help, your friends will provide you with it, after they hear your thoughts. Don’t hesitate to ask for it. As Michael Carius also suggests the same by saying “Remember to take some time for yourself. If everything doesn’t get done, the world is not going to fall apart.”
Feeling low after facing some holiday blues is common phenomenon. If you are the one who is the victim of the same, because you have lost your loved one in the recent times or sometime around the same year, and you are getting depressed during your holidays, act actively. Michelle Pruett, M.S.W., spokesperson for the National Mental Health Association recommends “It’s a good idea to get out in the community and make an effort to connect with people, find a cause that means something to you. Not only will it boost your spirits, but you’ll meet people with similar interests, too.” So, what are you thinking, get ahead and sweep your tension out of your life by sharing it with others. Also, it gives you opportunities to widen your social circle by socializing with new people who come across you.
During the time of interaction, if you come across people who are passing through a difficult phase of life, try to approach them and relief them from their stress. Accompany them to a cool movie or take them to a walk in the fresh environment. Invite them to your family so that they get across new people.
