Opioids Addiction – A risky teen habit
Many teenagers especially in the U.S. are totally into the use of prescription medicines, opioids like Vicodin, OxyContin, Percocet and codeine with no doctor’s instructions. This risqué behaviour is catching significant momentum with nearly twelve percent of high school going senior students going full throttle in their consumption just for the purpose of alleviating stress and getting a high rather than for the actual purpose of pain relief that these medications are actually meant for.
The abuse of these narcotics is widely used by teenagers just to get a sense of well-being. Opiates are innate derivatives of the opium poppy. Opiates comprise the set of drugs called as opioids or narcotics that are largely prescribed by doctors to mitigate pain in chronic ailments like cancer, kidney stones, bone fractures, eye grazes and other severe medical conditions in dosages just enough to decrease the consciousness of the pain.
