History says that the disease leprosy   has affected the various human beings on earth since last 4000 years. The ailment was very well-recognized in the antique civilizations of China, Egypt, and India. A research by World health Organization (WHO) in 1995 had demonstrated that a number of 2 to 3 million people were permanently immobilized by Leprosy in that era. The report from WHO also says that in the beginning of 2008, the global record for the occurrence of the disease was 212,802. However, currently the adequate treatments are available to get rid of the penalty of the fatal illness leprosy. What is Leprosy? Leprosy or Hansen’s disease (HD)   is a chronic disease that is caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium leprae or Mycobacterium lepromatosis. It mostly affects the skin surfaces and other secondary nerves.It is a sickness of the peripheral nerves and mucosa of the upper respiratory path. Its initial symbols are skin scratches.
