Children can be messy mittens and one needs to be adequately geared to handle any clothes disasters. One can make sure that all the clothing one buys is color fast so that it can go into the family wash. It seems quite obvious that the more frequent the change of clothes will be, the less often one has to do the washing. One can reduce the wash load by putting some kind of protective apron or overall on the child whenever the child may be playing messy games. One could also use one’s cut-down shirt that the child can wear to protect against stains. However, more often than not, stains do become a part-and-parcel of life. If there is an egg stain on the cloth, one can soak the cloth in cold water for about an hour before the usual laundering procedure.
