Many children are introduced to television from as young as when they are still in their cots. Many parents look as television as a built-in baby sitter since it keeps the children amused when they busy doing their own work or when there is no one else around to overlook them. For many years now, children television has gained popularity and takes away more of the child’s playtime than all the other activities combined into one. Television is the least bit useful for a child who watches it alone. Although he might be watching a highly educational series, he’s less likely to absorb anything constructive from it if he is watching it in an entirely passive form. He would ideally benefit from such a situation if the program is watched with other peers who would express their comments, or best with an adult who would question the child and make necessary observations and conclusions.
