Kellogg’s Revokes Two Eggo Products Following Bacterial Detection

In a latest move, Kellogg’s have withdrawn two of its Eggo items for consumption because of being contaminated by a certain strain of potentially dangerous bacteria. This swift step was undertaken in the Atlanta plant of Kellogg’s.

The called back produce comprised of:

  • The Eggo Cinnamon Toast waffles version of Kellogg’s with a ten-count packaging, having a Universal Product Code of 3800040440 and expiry dates that commenced with (NOV22 – NOV24) 10 EA.
  • The Eggo Toaster Swirlz Cinnamon Roll Minis version of Kellogg’s with an 8- count packaging, having a Universal Product Code of 3800023370 and expiry dates that started with NOV15 10EA.

This eye-opening discovery came to light following a regular assessment procedure undertaken by the Georgia Department of Agriculture or GDA. The inspection found the presence of the Listeria monocytogenes bacterial variety discovered in the Buttermilk Eggo Waffles version of Kellogg’s.

Though, there was no shipment undertaken of this bacterially infected product. Kellogg’s has willingly withdrawn 4,500 cases of its duo produce manufactured at its Atlanta plant citing reasons of profusion of vigilance and caution being implemented.

The duo manufactured items were dispatched all over the United States. The dealers who obtained the products had been informed of the revoke on those items.

The FDA has graded the revoke with a Class II type that the organization describes as a condition wherein the likelihood of grave undesirable health outcome is a distant possibility.

The Listeria Monocytogenes Bacteria is known to cause the deleterious disease called listerosis. This bacterial strain generally cited for the reason behind meningitis, wherein the affected person displays adverse signs like soaring fever, extreme headaches, stiffness in the neck region and feeling nauseous. Many cases of miscarriage and stillbirth are caused due to Listerosis, with the infection gaining mortal proportions particularly for children, the aged and those individuals with depleted immune systems.
