FDA Cautions About Weight Loss Products

In a news relay, FDA has warned end users that sibutramine that is a component of the weight loss products that are vended online and by Young You Corp. have considerable health risks.

The products in question are sold by Young You’s Weight Loss and Rejuvenation Centre located in Tarzana, California. A total of four products including the thirty pill packets of Slimbionic, One Weight Loss Pill, Botanical Weight Loss and SlimDemand have been voluntarily recalled following FDA’s disapproval to the presence of the non-affirmed drug called sibutramine whose safety and efficiency is under the scanner.

Sibutramine is known to be an active component in Meridia that is a treatment given alongside a low calorie diet to assist obese individuals to hasten the weight loss process. Sibutramine functions essentially as an appetite repressor by influencing a part of the brain that controls hunger pangs, thus giving a feeling of a full stomach and gratification.

FDA has pinpointed out to the presence of sibutramine in the recalled products that are believed to cause a significant surge in blood pressure accompanied many times by raised pulse rate and has a strong possibility of raising the level of risk in patients with a past of heart ailments.

The Young You Corp. has even posted its news release on FDA’s website that mentions that the step taken to recall the four products is intentional and that there have been no cases reported of any sickness or grievance regarding the products.
